Die ständige Weiterentwicklung der Elektronik im Motorensektor hat Malossi dazu veranlasst, eine umfassende Serie von elektronischen Steuerungen für Straßen- und Rennscooter zu verwirklichen und zu vertreiben, die dem höchsten Stand der Technik entsprechen.
Jede Steuerung wurde speziell für ein spezifisches Scootermodell entwickelt, wozu nach zahlreichen Tests auf festen und mobilen Prüfständen, sowie auf Rennstrecken eine optimale Zündcharakteristik (fest und variabel) definiert wurde, um eine maximale Leistung des Fahrzeugs zu erzielen. Die elektronischen Steuerungen von Malossi wurden so entwickelt, dass eine einfache Montage möglich ist, da die kompakten und ergonomischen Produkte mit den serienmässigen Steuerungen austauschbar sind und genau auf die Originalanschlüsse passen.
Malossi-Steuerungen machen außerdem den Drehzahlbegrenzer der Seriensteuerungen überflüssig, wodurch die volle Leistung und das gesamte Drehmoment der Motoren bis 20.000 U/min genutzt werden kann. Malossi-Steuerungen mit kapazitiver Entladung sind daher bei der Entladung maximal entstört und liefern einen nahezu perfekten Stromimpuls an den Zündkerzen (je nach Motordrehzahl 35.000-50.000 Volt), außerdem liefern sie sehr hohe, sowie eine in allen Drehzahlen des Motors überraschend konstante Entladungsspannung und Entladungsstrom.
TC UNIT R.P.M. CONTROL
Auf diesen Steuerungen befindet sich ein Mikroschalter, der nach Bedarf an einem geschützten Ort an dem Fahrzeug montiert werden kann und der den Drehzahlbegrenzer des Motors einschaltet. Die Motordrehzahl bei der der Begrenzer einschaltet ist je nach Motortypologie einstellbar. Mit der Einstellung der Einschaltgeschwindigkeit, die sich nach dem Tachometer des Fahrzeugs richtet und per Mikropotentiometer erfolgt, der an der Steuerung montiert ist, kann der Einschreitpunkt des Begrenzers angepasst werden. Das Potentiometer ist sehr sensibel, weshalb es bei der Einstellphase nur minimal verstellt werden muss um den Einschreitpunkt des Begrenzers auf dem Scooter zu erreichen.
