SHOEI NXR2 PLAIN HELMET
The compact and lightweight SHOEI NXR2 premium sports helmet. Its AIM (Advanced Integrated Matrix) outer shell, combined with a polystyrene core system composed of several elements of different absorption capacity, provides optimum impact protection. The CWR-F2 visor, newly developed for the SHOEI NXR2, with two-dimensional shaping, enables distortion-free and very natural vision. Reinforcements at the upper and lower edge of the visor increase torsional stiffness, and a locking mechanism now located in the center prevents the visor from opening unintentionally. The enlarged, mist-retardant PINLOCK®EVO lens included with the helmet allows a clear view over a large part of the usable field of vision, even in difficult weather conditions, thanks to the mounting pins that are set far to the rear. The chin strap with double-D closure is easily adjustable and holds the helmet safely in place. In an emergency, the cheek pads can be easily removed for gentle helmet removal thanks to the EQRS system (Emergency Quick Release System). The 6 air inlets and 4 air outlets of the SHOEI NXR2 are connected via a branched ventilation system inside the helmet shell and noticeably reduce the temperature and humidity inside the helmet. They always ensure a sufficient supply of fresh air for the rider without increasing the noise level. The integrated spoiler in the back of the head stabilises the helmet at higher speeds.

I bought this helmet for use in the US because Shoei is high quality and fits my head well, and because I strongly prefer an ECE22.06 over a DOT homologation. After trying on both the US version of this helmet (RF-1400) and the Euro version (NXR2) in the same size, I concluded that the fit is identical. Please note that the fit is DIFFERENT for Asia and other markets. I chose this model of Shoei for a few reasons. First, the full-face design and the lack of an internal drop-down visor are always going to be safer than a modular and an internal visor. Those features are very convenient. I considered them and I don't fault anyone for going with them, but I chose the safety factor over the convenience. Second, this model is lightweight. My current ECE22.05 helmet fails in this department, so I prioritized it. I've already confirmed that the visor goes on an off easily, and installed the included Pinlock. Helmet is quiet, aerodynamic, and I unhesitatingly recommend it.
