ALPINESTARS TECH-AIR 3 V2

Tech-Air® 3 is a motorcycle airbag vest that can be worn over or under any leather or textile motorcycle jacket, provided the jacket has enough space to accommodate the airbag inflation. Lightweight and easily packable, this latest addition to the Tech-Air® line is designed to protect commuters and touring riders with effective upper-body airbag protection, covering the rider's entire chest and back before impact. The vest can be stowed in a backpack or under the seat when not in use.

Tech-Air® 3 is a completely self-contained system, requiring no external connections or sensors on the motorcycle for operation and is activated automatically via the magnetic zipper closure.

The six integrated sensors (three accelerometers, three gyroscopes, or one triaxial gyroscope and one triaxial accelerometer) provide the best crash monitoring performance in a variety of dynamic riding situations.

The control unit and electronics are housed in a waterproof housing for proven performance in wet weather conditions.

The magnetic zipper closure is designed for ease of use and a secure closure. An LED display on the front chest continuously indicates the airbag's operational status, while the diagonal zipper provides full front chest coverage while also concealing the internal airbag. An internal magnetic button facilitates easy positioning of the airbag on the chest while riding.

The LED display also incorporates a haptic alert, which vibrates to confirm the system is armed and warns the rider when the battery is running low.

Stretch panels have been strategically placed on both sides of the abdomen to accommodate airbag expansion in the event of a crash.

The internal rear pocket for housing the back protector allows for further increased puncture protection.

ELECTRONICS AND CONNECTIVITY

Tech-Air® 3 features Alpinestars' compact Pro 2nd Generation Electronic Control Unit (ECU), incorporated into the upper back of the Tech-Air® 3 vest.

Tech-Air® 3 utilizes the Tech-Air® 5 road algorithm, which provides active protection in road riding scenarios and a wide variety of riding conditions, even when stationary.

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 5.0) connectivity with the Tech-Air® app displays system status, battery status, and riding data.

Tech-Air® 3 utilizes a certified integrated lithium-ion battery with a battery life of 40 hours and a charging time of approximately 4 hours.

System firmware is accessible and upgradable via the Tech-Air® app.

INFLATION SYSTEM

The CE ISO26263-certified argon gas cylinder provides the inflation gas for airbag deployment and is housed in an ergonomic case on the right side of the rider's lower back.

The canister housing, electronic wiring, and airbag are easily removable for washing the vest. The canister can be replaced by ANY Alpinestars dealer. The chassis is constructed with a water-resistant treatment for effective all-weather performance.

Also available in a women's version, for an optimized fit and ergonomically designed for women.

Alpinestars' crash detection activation algorithm has been developed and refined with millions of kilometers of riding data and thousands of crashes, allowing the system to precisely assess when to deploy the airbag prior to a crash or other dangerous situations such as a lowside or highside accident. If Tech-Air® 3 detects the onset of a crash, the system will deploy the protective airbag within milliseconds, depending on the size of the airbag.

The Tech-Air® 3 system is designed to be worn as an over-the-jacket solution; when inflated, the system provides protective coverage to the rider's chest and back for effective upper body protection.

The Tech-Air® ECU seal protection ensures all-weather performance and is certified to operate between -20⁰C and +40⁰C.

STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS

The following standards apply to this product: Tech-Air® 3 full chest and full back airbag protection is CE-certified Category II according to the European Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Regulation 425/2017/EEC, according to the relevant part of the airbag certification standard EN1621-4:2013, which guarantees impact protection performance for at least five seconds after deployment. 17092 Class C Impact Garment (Outer Garment), with the outer shell constructed of water resistant material.
